FEES is a GOLD STANDARD in swallowing diagnostics and can assist in providing the best outcomes for patients by decreasing the amount of rehospitalizations, reducing the need for thickened liquids and feeding tubes, and providing improvements to patients’ quality of life.
The best part is the service is less expensive than sending patients to the hospital for Modified Barium Swallow Studies.
Plus we are able to evaluate the patients in their natural environment, with their favorite foods, and work closely with nurses, caregivers, family members, and Speech-Language Pathologists to provide the best patient centered care.

About Katie Decker, M.A. CCC-SLP
Katie Decker, M.A. CCC-SLP is the owner/operator of Midwest Dysphagia Diagnostics LLC. She received her B.A. in Biology from the University of Northern Iowa and followed there for her Masters in Speech-Language Pathology. Katie received training in FEES under Dr. Susan Langmore and with SA Swallowing Services. Katie has worked in Acute Care, Acute Rehabilitation, and Skilled Nursing settings and will bring her experience and knowledge to provide the best swallowing outcomes for your patients.
